Brief History
Having gone through the Organisation Development (OD) programme and realising the benefits they were reaping, the need to form a professional body to regulate the practices of OD and to enable members to benefit from it dawned on them. They therefore shared the idea of forming ODPA with the President of the OD Institute, Mr. Noble Kumawu, who strongly bought into it.
A constitution was drafted and the Association was registered with the Registrar-General’s Department under the name, Organisation Development Practitioners’ Association (ODPA), Ghana.
The President of OD Institute informed them that two previous attempts were made to form the Association but failed partly because they were driven mainly by their own cohort and so it was decided to involve all cohorts that studied Organisation Development. An interim Executive Committee was put in place to steer the affairs of the Association.
The Executives called on members to support the formation of the professional Association of OD practitioners when it was inaugurated on the 14th June, 2019 at the OD Institute, Haatso, Accra. Thirty-seven members and potential members of ODPA held a virtual maiden meeting to outdoor ODPA on the 18th August, 2020.
